I am from Green Bay, WI, and graduated from St. Norbert College with a B.S. majoring in computer science, math, and Spanish. I have worked as an independent technology specialist for the past several years and have also been involved with open-source development, particularly the AbiWord project. I am pursuing a Ph.D. in human-computer interaction at Iowa State University because I am interested in how interaction can be designed to maximize the benefit of technology in our lives in a variety of ways.
I am working with Judy M. Vance, Ph.D., Joseph C. and Elizabeth A. Anderlik Professor of Engineering at Iowa State University. My research encompasses virtual reality usability, end-user development of immersive experiences, and haptic algorithms supporting virtual engineering and virtual prototyping.
